How did CalledOut Music get started?
Samuel Nwachukwu, who sings as CalledOut Music, came to the United Kingdom with his family at the age of 12. He split his time between writing songs and his studies, produced original songs for musicals and appeared on other artists' tracks. His first solo single, Working on Me, came out in 2016.
The singles My Prayer (Yahweh), in November 2017, and I Am Free, in January 2018, came before the EP The Collection and the album In Due Time (Genesis), released in November 2018. He then received Premier Gospel awards in 2019, including best video, followed by the MOBO Award for Best Gospel Act in 2020.
What makes CalledOut Music distinctive?
His style combines Afro-gospel, R&B and contemporary worship, aimed at intimacy with God. He sings with Guvna B, Samm Henshaw and IMRSQD on My Beautiful Reality (2022), with Ryan Ofei and Annatoria on Baba (2024), and also takes up worship classics, as on the EP Retro Worship (2024) or in his live medleys from London.
With The Room (2026), seven tracks, he moves to a live recording, made in one room with his musicians at Gnome Studios in Nashville, after settling in the United States.
