Trials are pictured as a passage where faith is refined like gold in fire (1 Peter 1:7), with God present in the middle of it: "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you" (Isaiah 43:2).

Disappointment is a silent emotion. It doesn't make noise like anger, it isn't visible like joy, and yet it can undermine you deeply.
The Bible does not give a single answer, but it shows that God uses trials: James 1:2-4 speaks of faith producing perseverance, Romans 5:3-4 of hope forged through endurance. A trial is never God's abandonment — Isaiah 43:2 promises his presence in the waters.
