It all starts in 1992 in Littlehampton, on the south coast of England, within a youth group from Arun Community Church: The Cutting Edge Band. Around Martin Smith (vocals, guitar), the lineup that would become famous gradually takes shape, with Tim Jupp (keyboards), Stu G (guitar), Jon Thatcher (bass), and Stew Smith (drums). In 1996, the band takes the name Delirious? and asserts an ambitious brand of Christian rock, made for secular stages as much as for church.
Carried by albums like King of Fools (1997), Mezzamorphis (1999), and World Service (2003), Delirious? goes on to tour internationally and places several songs on the UK charts, including "History Maker," which reaches number 4 in the UK in 2010. After Kingdom of Comfort (2008), the band brings its adventure to a close with a farewell concert at the Hammersmith Apollo in London on November 29, 2009. In August 2025, Martin Smith and Stu G took the stage together again at the Big Church Festival for a one-off reunion celebrated by fans.

How did Delirious? get started?
The band is born out of a gathering of young people from Arun Community Church in Littlehampton, where Martin Smith, Stewart Smith, and Tim Jupp form The Cutting Edge Band in 1992. Stu G joins in 1994, then Jon Thatcher in 1995: the lineup that would go on to mark the history of English-language worship is complete.
In January 1996, the band changes its name to Delirious?, with the ambition of carrying songs of worship onto major rock stages, not just in churches.
