Fabricants de Joie was born in 1984 in French-speaking Switzerland, at the initiative of Louise Neuenschwander, within the King's Kids movement, launched in 1976 in Hawaii by missionaries Dale and Carol Kauffman. How did Fabricants de Joie get started?
It all began with King's Kids, launched in 1976 in Hawaii when Dale and Carol Kauffman, missionaries with Youth With A Mission, decided to directly involve the children present on their base in prayer and in preparing a musical. The experience left a lasting mark on the YWAM movement and spread around the world.
In 1984, Louise Neuenschwander brought this vision to French-speaking Switzerland and founded Fabricants de Joie, with the conviction that children and young people can be active participants in mission today, not only once they become adults.
