It all starts with a conviction held by pastor Louie Giglio: college students need a place to experience genuine, unadorned worship. In 1997, he gathered a first group in Austin for what would become the Passion conference. The worship recorded on site gave birth to a first live album, Our Soul's Desire, the starting point of a discography that now numbers nearly thirty projects.
In 2000, the movement created its own label, sixstepsrecords, to produce and share these conference-born songs more widely. The success of The Road to One Day that same year established Passion as a leading name in American worship, reaching well beyond the student audience.
