A Short Prayer for the First Morning of School

Lord, school is starting again and I feel a little stressed, but I come to you. Give me your peace, focus and the joy of learning. Help me to be kind to my classmates, to respect my teachers and to stay honest. Keep me from fear and comparison. Help me make good friends, ask for help when I do not understand and not be ashamed of my struggles. May this year teach me a lot, about my subjects and about you. Stay with me all day long. In Jesus' name, amen.

James 1:5

A Parent Entrusting Their Child to God

Father, I entrust my child to you on this first day of school. You know their strengths, their fears and their needs. Put kind friends and caring teachers in their path. Give them a desire to learn, patience with difficulties and joy each day. Help me encourage them without comparing or pressuring them. Bless the teachers who welcome them too, and give them patience and kindness. Keep my child from mockery, bullying and loneliness, and remind them every day that you love them. In Jesus' name, amen.

Proverbs 22:6

A Prayer of Trust for the Year Ahead

Lord, a new year is starting and I want to live it with you. Give me the strength to study seriously and the wisdom to choose my priorities well. I do not want to move forward by my own strength alone. When work piles up or weariness comes, remind me that your grace is enough. Teach me to finish what I start with perseverance. Thank you for the chances to learn that I have received. May this year be a time of growth for me, and may I be a good witness of your love to those I meet. In Jesus' name, amen.
