Lord, we argued again, and I feel sadness and weariness. The words came out too fast, and now the silence between us is heavy. Calm my anger before night falls. Help me lower my guard, listen to what my spouse is really trying to say, and ask forgiveness for my part. Give both of us the humility to take the first step. Do not let resentment settle in our home. Father, remind us that we are on the same team, and that the real enemy is not each other. Rebuild what our words have damaged. Father, I long to love my spouse as you love me, but I often lack patience, gentleness and attentiveness. Habits, tiredness and worries have taken up a lot of room in our life together. Teach me to look at my spouse with kindness, to notice their qualities rather than their flaws, and to say thank you more often. Give me the perseverance to choose love even when I do not feel like it. Give us back time to talk, laugh and find each other again. Lord, make a love grow in us that does not tire and that serves the other before serving itself. Keep our marriage under your gaze. In the name of Jesus, amen.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Lord, trust has been wounded in our marriage, and I feel pain, anger and sometimes discouragement. I do not know how to move forward, but I know you are close to the brokenhearted. Receive my grief just as it is. Give us truth, patience and the courage to speak honestly. If forgiveness is to be offered or asked for, lead us step by step, without rushing us and without leaving us in bitterness. Place wise people on our path, such as a pastor or a counselor, who will help us. Father, I am not asking you to fix things fast, but to stay with us and guide us toward what is right. Start by telling God the truth: what hurts, your own faults, your weariness. Ask him for patience, a forgiving spirit and the right words. Avoid asking only that the other person change. The Bible urges us to bear with each other and forgive one another as the Lord forgave us (Colossians 3:13). Praying together, even briefly, brings you closer.
Yes. Pray for them with love, without pressure or reproach. The Bible encourages a pure and gentle way of life that speaks for itself (1 Peter 3:1-2). Only God touches hearts. Entrust your spouse to him, ask him to help you love, and stay patient. If violence is present, also seek help from your pastor or a professional.
Prayer is not a formula that guarantees a result. It places the couple before God and first changes our own heart. It goes hand in hand with listening, forgiveness, and sometimes pastoral support or marriage counseling. God is near to all who call on him sincerely (Psalm 145:18), and we leave the outcome with him.
