A Short Prayer to Ask for Freedom

Lord Jesus, I come to you as I am. You know what binds me, and you know how tired I am of fighting alone. I admit my faults and ask your forgiveness. You won the victory on the cross, and I trust in it. Come and set me free and lead me into your light. I renounce what keeps me from you, and I choose to follow you. Show me the steps to take and give me courage to talk about it with a trusted brother or sister. Fill me with your peace and your Spirit. Thank you for being stronger than everything that holds me back. Amen.

John 8:36

Entrusting a Struggling Loved One to God

Father, I entrust to you the one I love, my child or my loved one, who is suffering. You see their struggle, their weariness and sometimes their distance. I cannot change them, but you can touch their heart. Help me love them with patience and not lose hope. Put people in their path who speak to them about you. Keep us from guilt and division. Keep me also from exhaustion and discouragement. I place everything in your hands. In Jesus' name, amen.

Psalm 34:18

A Prayer of Thanks for Christ's Deliverance

Lord, thank you for the cross and for the victory of Jesus. You rescued me from the power of darkness and welcomed me into your kingdom. I want to walk each day in this freedom, fed by your Word and supported by my brothers and sisters. Teach me to obey you, to flee what makes me fall and to stay close to you. When I stumble, remind me that your grace is greater than my failures. May my life bring you glory. In Jesus' name, amen.

Frequently asked questions

How do I pray for deliverance?

Come to Jesus with honesty, admit what binds you, renounce it and ask him to set you free. He says: "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). Surround yourself with brothers and sisters, read the Bible and seek help from a pastor. Freedom is lived daily, not in a single moment.

Can you pray for the deliverance of your son or a loved one?

Yes, you can carry them before God with perseverance. Entrust them to the Father, ask him to touch their heart, and stay by their side with love. You cannot set them free yourself, but you can pray, listen and encourage. Also seek the support of a pastor or experienced brothers and sisters.

Is a prayer of deliverance enough to settle everything?

No, prayer is essential but it is often accompanied by a journey: reading the Bible, pastoral support, sometimes medical or psychological help. God works in many ways. He does not promise an instant result, but he promises to be near to those who have a broken heart (Psalm 34:18).
