Illness weakens both body and heart. This page is for you if you are sick, or if you are praying for a loved one who is suffering. You can tell God your fear, your tiredness and your questions. Pray simply, ask for his strength and peace, and place the outcome in his hands without dictating a result.

A Short Prayer for My Health

Lord, you know my body better than anyone. I come to you with my tiredness and my pain. I ask you to strengthen me, to give me rest and to give me the wisdom to take care of myself. Thank you for the doctors and caregivers you place on my path. I want to trust you, even when I do not understand. Keep my heart at peace and remind me that you are close to me every moment. I place my health in your hands, Father, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Psalm 103:2-3

A Prayer for a Sick Loved One

Father, I bring before you someone I love who is suffering. You see their pain, their fears and the weariness of those around them. I ask you to touch them, to ease their pain and to give them peace. Grant wisdom and patience to the caregivers. Give me the right words and the presence they need. I do not know how you will act, but I know you love them more than I do. I place this situation in your hands and ask you to sustain us all. May your will be done, with your comfort. In Jesus' name, amen.

James 5:14-15

A Prayer of Trust in Hardship

Lord, illness has made me realize how fragile I am. Yet I know you do not abandon me. When I feel alone, remind me of your presence. When I am discouraged, lift me up by your Word. Give me strength for today, without worrying about tomorrow. Thank you for every good day, for every gesture of love I receive. I entrust to you my body, my tests, my treatments and my future. May your grace be enough for me, for your power is made perfect in weakness. I trust you, Father, in Jesus' name. Amen.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Frequently asked questions

What prayer can I say for a sick person?

You can simply say: "Father, I entrust this person to you, ease their pain, strengthen them and give them your peace." The Bible invites us to pray for the sick, with faith and humility. We may ask for healing if we wish, but we leave the outcome to God, who remains sovereign.

Does God always heal when we pray?

The Bible reports many healings, and God can heal today. But it does not promise healing with every prayer. Paul himself kept a weakness, and God answered him: "My grace is sufficient for you." We pray with confidence, accepting that God acts according to his wisdom.

Can I pray for a sick person who does not believe?

Yes, you can pray for someone without their knowing or asking. Jesus healed people whose faith was weak or nonexistent. Pray for their health, their peace and that they would meet God. Offer them your prayer gently, without ever forcing it on them.
