This page is for you if you want to place your home under God's care: after a move, in a season of worry, or simply out of a desire to bless your family. Pray in your own words, aloud if you can, handing each room and each person over to the Father in the name of Jesus.

A Daily Prayer for My Home
Lord, thank you for the roof over our heads. Today I entrust to you every room of this house and every person who lives here or passes through. May your peace fill this place, may the words spoken here be good, and may your Spirit help us love one another as you love us. Keep us from quarrels, fear and indifference. Teach us to make our home a place where we can rest and worship you. In Jesus' name, amen.
Psalm 127:1
Giving My Household to God
Father, you know this home better than I do. You know its joys, its weariness, its tensions and its fears. I lay them before you. I am not counting on formulas or on my own strength, but on you alone, who never slumber or sleep. If any worry or evil influence tries to settle in our home, I place us under the victory of Jesus Christ, who is stronger than anything. Guard our hearts, our thoughts and our relationships. Where we have failed, forgive us. Give us your peace and teach us to trust you. In Jesus' name, amen.
Psalm 121:7
A Prayer of Trust: As for Me and My House, We Will Serve the Lord
Lord God, today I renew my decision: as for me and my house, we want to serve you. You are the true keeper of this home, and I thank you for your faithfulness, day and night. Thank you for the shared meals, the laughter, the reconciliations and even the hard moments when you carried us. May your presence dwell here, may your Word be read and lived within these walls, and may our door stay open to those who need your love. In Jesus' name, amen.
Joshua 24:15
For peace in my home
Lord, there are days when the atmosphere at home is tense: stinging words, tiredness, misunderstandings piling up. I come to ask for your peace for my home. May your peace rule in our hearts, and may we learn to listen before we answer. Forgive our impatience, and give us the humility to ask forgiveness. Drive out any resentment that might settle in, and fill this house with gentleness, respect and gratitude. Make our home a place where everyone feels loved. I begin with myself: change my heart first. Amen.
Colossians 3:15
For the children of the house
Father, you have entrusted children to me, and I recognize that they are a gift from you. I thank you for each one of them, for their character, their laughter, even their endless questions. I ask you for wisdom to raise them with firmness and tenderness, without anger or indifference. Help me show them your love by my actions as much as by my words. Protect their hearts from influences that would draw them away from you. May each one come to know you and walk with Jesus. They are yours before they are mine, and I give them back to you with trust. Amen.
Psalm 127:3
That my home may be a place of welcome
Lord, I would like my home to be a place where people feel welcome. Open my eyes to the lonely neighbor, the friend going through a hard time, the stranger looking for a table to sit at. Give me a simple heart that shares what it has, without trying to impress. May every meal, every conversation and every silence in this house be pleasing to you. Help us, my family and me, to welcome others as you have welcomed us. May everyone who enters our home meet your peace and your goodness. This house is yours, Lord. Amen.
Hebrews 13:2
My House Serves the Lord
« If it seems evil to you to serve Yahweh, choose today whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh.” »
Joshua 24:15
As for me and my house, we choose to serve the Lord. I place my home in his hands.
God Builds My House
« Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain. »
Psalm 127:1
I do not rely on my own strength alone to build my family. I let the Lord build and guard my home.
