A Morning Prayer Before My Job Search

Lord, before I begin this day of searching, I come to you. Give me clarity to write my applications, courage to contact the right people and patience when answers are slow. Keep my heart from comparison and discouragement. Remind me that my worth does not depend on a position or a reply. Show me the doors to push and the ones to leave. I want to do my best and entrust the rest to you. Thank you for being with me today. In Jesus' name, amen.

Proverbs 3:6

Entrusting My Professional Future to God

Father, you know what my family and I need. I lay before you my bills, my fears and my professional future. Keep me from panic and bitterness. Help me stay honest in my efforts and not let rejections define me. Lead my steps toward work where I can serve, but above all, teach me to depend on you every day. I entrust my plans to you and I choose to rest in your faithfulness. Thank you for hearing me today. In Jesus' name, amen.

Proverbs 16:3

A Prayer of Trust Before an Interview

Lord, I have an interview ahead and I entrust it to you. Calm my stress, help me prepare carefully, speak about myself and answer with simplicity and truth. Whatever the outcome, I want to thank you for being with me. If this door opens, may I work wholeheartedly for you. If it stays closed, hold me up and lead me to what comes next. Give me gratitude for all I have already received, and kindness toward the person who will meet me. May my words be true and my heart stay at peace. Thank you for your faithfulness. In Jesus' name, amen.

Frequently asked questions

What prayer should I say to find a job?

Simply pray to the Father, in the name of Jesus, presenting your situation, your needs and your efforts. Ask him for wisdom and peace. The Bible invites us to entrust our plans to him (Proverbs 16:3) while acting seriously. God does not promise a specific result, but he promises to be faithful.

Can God help me find a job?

God knows your needs and invites us to bring them to him. Jesus says the Father knows what we need. This does not replace your own efforts: pray, search, prepare, and trust. He can guide you, support you while you wait and give you peace, even without any guarantee about the timing.

What prayer can protect me at work and protect my job?

Entrust your work to God each morning: ask him for wisdom, integrity and peace, and for protection of your heart under pressure. The Bible invites us to work heartily, as for the Lord (Colossians 3:23). God does not guarantee a position, but he promises to be with you in whatever you go through.
