This prayer for strength is for you if you are running on empty, carrying a heavy load or walking through hard times. You do not have to pretend to be strong before God. You can come as you are and ask him for strength and peace for today. God does not always remove the difficulty, but he promises to walk with you through it and to give you what you need, one day at a time.

Strength for Today
Lord, I am tired, and I do not know how I am going to get through this day. My strength is gone and my courage is running low. I come to you just as I am, without pretending. You give power to the weak and you increase the strength of those who have none. I am not asking you for strength for the whole year, only for today. Help me take the next step, make the next call, finish the next task. When I want to give up, remind me that you are with me. Renew my body, my mind and my heart. Teach me to rest in you instead of relying only on myself. Thank you for being faithful when I am not. In Jesus' name, amen.
Isaiah 40:29
A Prayer for Strength and Peace
Father, my thoughts are racing and my heart is restless. So many worries are pulling at me, and I feel pulled in every direction. I bring them to you one by one: my family, my work, my health, my finances, the future I cannot see. I give you what I cannot control. Give me your strength to face what is in front of me, and your peace to quiet what is inside me. Guard my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus. Help me breathe, slow down and trust you again. When anxiety comes back, teach me to turn it into prayer instead of letting it take over. I thank you in advance for your presence, which does not depend on my circumstances. In Jesus' name, amen.
Philippians 4:6-7
Strength in Hard Times
Lord, life is hard right now. I did not see this season coming, and some days I feel crushed. Yet I am still standing, and I know it is because of you. When I am pressed on every side, keep me from being crushed. When I am confused, keep me from despair. When I feel alone, remind me that you have not forsaken me. Give me the strength to keep going without hardening my heart. Surround me with people who can support me, and give me the humility to ask for help. I do not know how long this trial will last, but I choose to trust you in it. Hold me up, and help me hold on to your promises. In Jesus' name, amen.
2 Corinthians 4:8-9
Christ is my strength
« I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. »
Philippians 4:13
I proclaim that I am not left to my own resources. Christ gives me the strength I need for today, one step after another.
God holds me up
« Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. »
Isaiah 41:10
I declare that I do not have to be afraid, because God is with me. He strengthens me, he helps me and he holds me up with his hand.
His power in my weakness
« My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. »
2 Corinthians 12:9
I proclaim that my weakness is not the end of the story. God's grace is enough for me, and his power is at work right where I feel weak.
