Église Évangélique Méthodiste de Strasbourg (EEMS) is an evangelical Protestant congregation in the Methodist tradition, located in the heart of Strasbourg's Petite France district. The church meets at the Temple de Sion, 1 place Benjamin Zix, a historic building inaugurated in 1882 as the "Zionskirche." The EEMS known today was formed on 27 May 2006 through the merger of two historic Strasbourg Methodist congregations: the Temple de Sion church, founded in 1868 by pastor Johann P. Schnatz and inaugurated in 1882 before 700 people, and the Emmanuel church, founded in 1871 in the old town. The temple, spared during the Second World War, was renovated between 2012 and 2014. The church places love for God and neighbor, guided by the Holy Spirit, at the center of its community life.
Sunday worship begins at 10:00 am, with a dedicated welcome program for children. Church life is also organized around several ministries: neighborhood groups, children's ministry, youth, a seniors' group, mission and outreach (diaconie), and a choir. The church also offers a permanent Bible exhibition (Expo Bible) and publishes a statement of faith detailing its convictions, in the evangelical and Methodist spirit that has shaped it for more than 150 years.
