It belongs to the CAEF union (Communautés et Assemblées Évangéliques de France) and describes itself as a local community, focused primarily on residents of the 15th arrondissement and the southern part of the 16th.
The church was founded in 1971, born from a collaboration between the Église des Nations (Paris 11th), evangelist Alain Choiquier, and the association Opération Mobilisation. Hans Wyttenbach, a Swiss missionary, served as its first pastor from 1971 to 1983. The congregation moved to its current address in September 1975, after being affiliated with France Mission from 1982 to 1988, then joined the CAEF in 1988. In 2020 it took the name EPE Paris Beaugrenelle to affirm its local territorial presence.
The church defines itself through three traits: local, collegial, and biblical. Its governance rests on recognized elders, operating collegially rather than hierarchically, and the Bible is regarded as the unchanging standard for faith and practice. Its mission is to welcome people in their diversity to witness to Jesus Christ, and to respond to the needs of its members and neighborhood residents through edification by the Word, fellowship, and spiritual accompaniment.
