Who is Gas Street Church?
Gas Street Church is an Anglican church in the centre of Birmingham, launched in 2015 by Tim and Rachel Hughes and a small team who relocated from Holy Trinity Brompton in London. After meeting in a variety of venues, the church moved into a renovated gas retort warehouse on Gas Street, just off Broad Street, once used to manufacture the gas that powered the city's street lamps. It was officially launched on Friday 5 February 2016.
Driven by its vision to be light for the city and beyond, Gas Street Church has already planted six churches, in Birmingham, Coventry, Belfast and Nijmegen in the Netherlands, and has several sites across the city. Worship and Bible teaching are at the heart of its life. Sunday gatherings are published on YouTube. Efficient Church summarizes a selection of them on this page: each article distils a teaching with its key verses and links back to the original video and the church's channel.
