Who is KINGDOM SEEKERS?
Kingdom Seekers began in 2008 as a small home gathering in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture. From 2015 onward the church made Tokyo's Shibuya district its main base before growing into a network model with several gathering points across the metropolitan area. Sunday worship is now held at the Grand Hill Ichigaya hotel in the Shinjuku district. Pastor Bungo Kubota, a Tokyo native, previously served as editor in chief of the Christian outlet Revival Newspaper and completed an international leadership program with Haggai International. He also leads the certified nonprofit Food Bank Shibuya, which distributes food assistance in the neighborhood.
The church's guiding verse, Matthew 6:33 (seek first the kingdom of God), sums up its mission : connecting heaven and earth by sharing the hope and joy God offers. Kingdom Seekers emphasizes discipleship, biblical teaching, and community engagement, including through the food bank its pastor runs.
