Who is 沼津シオン・キリスト教会 ?
沼津シオン・キリスト教会 traces its roots to 1939, when a local Christian mission, the 沼津基督宣教会, was founded in Numazu in the wake of the revival movement led in Tokyo by pastor Tsuguo Tsutada. The church later joined the シオン・キリスト教団 (Zion Christian Church), a Wesleyan holiness evangelical denomination that was itself founded in 1934 in Kamata by Aiji Kishida, organized as a religious corporation in 1967, and renamed to its current form in 1995. This denomination belongs to the Japan Evangelical Association (JEA) and the Japan Holiness Fellowship (JHA). In 2019, the congregation opened a local outpost, the インマヌエルチャペル (Immanuel Chapel), in the Imazawa district of Numazu.
Located a short walk east of the north exit of Numazu Station, near the Kirameuse Numazu complex, the church is currently led by pastor Masahiro Ogino, together with his wife Mariko Ogino. The congregation gathers every Sunday for worship and regularly shares its messages through its blog and YouTube channel.
