Westminster Chapel

Evangelical church in London

Who is Westminster Chapel?

Westminster Chapel is an evangelical church in central London, on Buckingham Gate, a few minutes from Buckingham Palace. Founded in 1840 under Samuel Martin, in a then very poor area that Charles Dickens called “The Devil's Acre”, it served the most vulnerable from the start through almshouses, schools and care for orphans. Preachers such as G. Campbell Morgan and Martyn Lloyd-Jones exercised their ministry there.

Today the church longs to see London filled with followers of Jesus and shapes its life around three values: apostolic, Bible and Spirit, and community. It is led collectively by a team of seven elders. Its services and sermons are shared on its YouTube channel. Efficient Church summarizes a selection of them on this page: each article distils a teaching with its key verses and links back to the original video and the church's channel.
