How did Outbreakband begin?

The band was founded in 2007 out of the youth events of the Glaubenszentrum in Bad Gandersheim, Lower Saxony. It took its name from Outbreak, a highlight of those events, and first sang for that young audience.

The first records followed quickly: In deinem Licht in 2008, Alles Drin in 2009, then Real Love in 2011. In 2010 it also recorded Die Liebe des Retters with Glaubenszentrum Live.

What makes Outbreakband distinctive?

Outbreakband writes its worship in German, so that young people and congregations can sing in their own language. The band collaborates readily: with Urban Life Worship and Samuel Harfst on the album Jesus, with YADA-Worship and the O'Bros on Freue dich Welt (2021), or with LZ7 on Wie im Himmel, a song of the 2018 PraiseCamp gathering.

It also reworks its albums as acoustic versions and remixes: Atmosphäre (Akustik Sessions) in 2018, Atmosphäre (All the Remixes) in 2020 and Jesus Akustik in 2023.

Where should you start to discover Outbreakband?

Start with Ewigkeit, Oase and Ich laufe zum Vater, three songs released in the 2020s. Then go back to Atmosphäre, the title song of its first studio album, and to Frei sein, from Gott und König (2012), to hear its early live recordings.
