View articlesÉglise Évangélique Libre de Paris, also known as Église protestante Paris-Alésia, is an evangelical Christian church located at 85 rue d'Alésia in the 14th arrondissement of Paris, near the Alésia metro station (line 4). It belongs to the UEEL (Union of Free Evangelical Churches of France), as well as the FPF and the CNEF. It describes itself as a space for meeting, sharing, and spiritual reflection, open to all, believers and non-believers alike.
Born in the mid-1960s from a small group of young couples who came to study in Paris, the congregation was formally established in 1963, first meeting on rue Serpente. In 1971 it acquired the building at 85 rue d'Alésia, which became its permanent home, later renovated and expanded several times (1997-1998, 2001, 2016). Since September 2022 and September 2023 respectively, the church has been led by pastors Stéphane Guillet and Mélanie Ehrismann, together with a council of elected lay members.
Every Sunday, two services are held in French at 9:30am and 11:30am, each lasting around 1h15, with a fellowship time between them. The service combines Bible readings, songs, prayer, and preaching, with regular Communion. The church also offers childcare for toddlers, age-appropriate Bible activities for children and middle schoolers, neighborhood groups, a solidarity ministry, training courses, and Sunday concerts.
