View articlesCentre Elim Paris, the Église Protestante Évangélique Elim (EPEE), is an evangelical church located at 15 rue de Campo-Formio, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, reachable via metro lines 5, 6, and 14. It belongs to the Union d'assemblées protestantes en mission (UAPM) and the Fédération Protestante de France. Its motto, "Love God, Love God's Family, Serve Others," draws on the biblical account of Elim, the oasis where the Israelites found twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees after crossing the desert.
The church was founded on May 8, 2004, by John and Rebecca Lim, a bivocational "tent-making" pastoral couple fluent in English, Mandarin, and French. Since July 2021, trainee pastor Kathie Choi, originally from Macao and a theology graduate of the Institut Théologique de Bordeaux, has also served the community after several years as a missionary in China's Yunnan province. The pastoral team's vision is to see believers become effective disciples of Jesus in the church, the marketplace, and in missions.
The celebration service takes place every Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to noon, with activities planned for children. Community life is also organized around Bible studies in French and Chinese, a discipleship training track, an evangelism outreach on the third Sunday of the month, free refreshments on the first Sunday, free English conversation classes on Mondays, and inter-church prayer meetings. This variety reflects a multicultural community attentive to welcoming newcomers from all backgrounds.
