• Our faith does not rest on the approval, the power, or the success of men, but on the grace, the sacrifice, and the resurrection of Jesus.

3. Building together: everyone has a job to do

• Nehemiah 3 lists family after family repairing the section of the wall right next to their own house. Priests, merchants, goldsmiths, guards: everyone pitches in.
• 1 Corinthians 12:18: "But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be." No role is too small in His building.

5. God dwells in what we build together

• When the wall is completed, the people rejoice and the joy is heard from far away. Even the enemies recognize that this work was done with the help of God.
• Ephesians 2:22: "In Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit."
• We do not build for the sake of building: we build so that God may dwell among us.
